As PC players enjoy the recently released port of Final Fantasy 16, producer Naoki Yoshida wants Xbox fans to know that they shouldn't give up hope. The Final Fantasy franchise has long been associated with PlayStation, going back to the ground-breaking RPG that is Final Fantasy 7. Square Enix has attempted to take the series farther afield by making nearly every game available on PC, but the next step in the publisher's multiplatform approach must be Xbox, a console that has missed out on several of the most recent games.
Speaking during an interview with Video Games on Sports Illustrated, Yoshida clarified that the development team behind Final Fantasy 16 wants to see the title come to Xbox Series X|S as much as the fans:
Of course we did announce the PC version of the game, so looking towards the Xbox version, we do want to release it on Xbox. But when it comes to the specifics such as when the game would be available and such, we are not in a position to be able to share anything.
