Bloodstained director Shutaro Ida will be leaving the Bloodstained 2 development team after a cancer diagnosis. Ida was a major part of both the Bloodstained and Castlevania franchises. He was also the lead programmer for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, closely working with Hideo Kojima.
Among Ida's major contributions were the Castlevania DS trilogy consisting of Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia, which are currently available on modern platforms as part of the Castlevania Dominus Collection. And while he has stated that he already has many ideas to contribute to Bloodstained 2, the new diagnosis has caused him to put out a statement regarding his involvement in the project.
