Epic Games has added a new time control feature to Fortnite that is meant more for the parents than the players themselves. Fortnite's player base is predominantly young, and this new feature acknowledges this by giving parents more control over their kids' gaming habits.

Parents will now be able to limit the amount of time their kids spend in-game, according to a post on Epic Games. The new time control system will also show parents an overview of how much time their child has played per day, allowing them to decide what is "too much."

The time controls are connected to an online account, which means it can be synced between devices. Limits are enacted both on the main game as well as on the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). Accounts with time restrictions will get a heads-up half an hour before their time runs out, so players won't be blindsided mid-match. They'll also have the option to request additional time when their time is close to ending, which the parents can approve or deny at their discretion.
