The CCO of indie publisher Devolver Digital recently expressed excitement about the next Nintendo console, as well as the possibility of developing games for the new hardware. After years of speculation about what would come after the highly successful Nintendo Switch, gamers finally got official confirmation that new Nintendo hardware is on the way a few months ago, when Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa revealed that this mystery console would be shown at some point before the end of the current fiscal year.
This means that fans will get to see the new Nintendo console by March 31, 2025, but no concrete details about the reveal date have been shared just yet. Past rumors have hinted that the Nintendo Switch successor would be unveiled in September, but this ultimately proved to not be the case. More recently, a leaker claimed that Nintendo is still on track to reveal its next console by the end of 2024, and that the curtain could be pulled back later this month.
Hopes are high that the Nintendo Switch 2 will lead to more high-fidelity games, but its improvements should extend to Nintendo's online service.
