A petition to save The Simpsons: Tapped Out is gaining serious traction, with nearly 16,000 signatures at the time of this writing. The Simpsons: Tapped Out is a mobile city-building game developed by EA Mobile that was first released in 2012. Despite being heavily criticized for its microtransactions, The Simpsons: Tapped Out has earned a dedicated following of diehard fans over the last 12 years that recently received some devastating news.

Unfortunately for fans of the game, EA has announced that The Simpsons: Tapped Out is shutting down. The Simpsons: Tapped Out shut down will happen in two phases. First, The Simpsons: Tapped Out will be delisted from app stores on October 31, making it impossible for any potential new players to discover the game. Then, on January 25, The Simpsons: Tapped Out will cease to exist for all players.
