The latest expansion for Hearts of Iron IV will focus on Central Europe, particularly Germany, one of the most played countries in the game. Titled Götterdämmerung, translating to “Twilight of the Gods” in English, the DLC will release alongside Patch 1.15 on November 14th.

As part of the expansion, Germany will receive a larger focus tree with more monarchist content, as well as alternative democratic and fascist paths. Austria, Hungary, and Belgium will receive completely overhauled focus trees, including scenarios where the AI can keep Austria independent.
Besides country changes, Paradox is also overhauling the oft-forgotten special projects aspect of Hearts of Iron. A new experimental research mechanic is being introduced, and the hope is that super weapons will finally be relevant in campaigns.
Accompanying the special projects changes will be a new Raids feature. You’ll be able to conduct high risk, high reward raids on enemies’ military or research installations, providing another tool in your arsenal as you pursue world domination.
Götterdämmerung will be a part of the Expansion Pack 1, which will include this expansion, the Graveyard of Empires country pack, and the Prototype Vehicles unit pack.
