One of Stardew Valley's most neglected NPCs can finally get a well-deserved house upgrade thanks to a newly discovered mod. Tucked away in Cindersnap Forest is a run-down abandoned house where the Hat Mouse resides. The NPC offers fans headwear, and the offerings expand as players unlock different achievements, with 42 different hats total to purchase while playing.
These hat offerings are one way in-game to see how much progress a player has made toward achieving perfection, but the adorable hat retailer is one NPC players feel ConcernedApe has overlooked.
A Reddit thread from avatarroku157 was filled with comments from users wanting to give the Hat Mouse an upgraded shop, asking ConcernedApe to dedicate a little attention to the abandoned house in his next big update for the farming sim. But as pointed out in the comments of the post, there's already a mod that expands the Hat Mouse's shop - and players don't have to wait for the next update.
