Silent Hill 2's early digital deluxe launch appears to be a hit on Steam as it's already sitting at "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews, a far cry from what most fans expected.

From the very first moment that it was revealed that Bloober Team would be the ones behind the long-rumoured remake of Silent Hill 2, it's fair to say that pretty much everyone had their doubts. Bloober has released several good games, sure, but its approach to horror has been a lot more obvious and jumpscare-heavy than the subtlety of Silent Hill requires.

Is Silent Hill 2 still our special place, or has it become a twisted nightmare?

Against all odds, though, it seems that Bloober has actually managed to remake Silent Hill 2 in the way that it deserves, with it achieving much higher review scores from critics than any of us expected. It also seems to be a success with players too, as the ones getting their hands on it early have nothing but good things to say.

Although Silent Hill 2 doesn't launch until October 8 for most players, those who purchased the Digital Deluxe version of the game have been granted access to it...
