An Easter egg has been discovered in the Silent Hill 2 Remake that makes a knowing nod to the doomed Silent Hill HD Collection. The collection was released 11 years after the classic horror game and was met with terrible reception. Fans were worried that Bloober Team's remake would suffer the same fate, and, it turns out, Bloober was well aware of it.

An image shared by GmanLives on X shows the notorious "Silent Hill Ranch" sign from the HD Collection lying discarded on the ground. According to GmanLives, the sign can be found by clipping through the ranch at the beginning of the Remake.

The inclusion of this sign is a nod to fans, acknowledging their fears that Remake would become another HD Collection. Its inclusion is an admission of the pressure on Bloober to make the best game they could.

Silent Hill HD Collection was developed by Hijinx Studios and included an HD remake of Silent Hill 2 and 3.The title was doomed from the start, as it included none of the original voice actors.
