In today’s gaming world, if a developer or publisher wants people to experience a demo, they’d put it on the various store pages and hope that people download it and play it. However, that wasn’t how it was done before the days of internet gaming. Back then, we used to have “store demos,” where stores would have consoles set up so that people could play trailers or demos of upcoming games so that they could know what to expect and what to buy. Nintendo is apparently feeling nostalgic on this front, as they’re doing that with Super Mario Party Jamboree.

Yes, the upcoming title, which releases in less than two weeks, is getting a store demo via locations outlined in the tweet below.

While interesting, it’s also a bit odd. Nintendo has been one of the best about dropping digital demos ahead of a game’s release. Yet, here, they’re doing a physical demo. It’s possible that these store demos will be set up for multiple players, but it’s hard to say for certain. Either way, Super Mario Party Jamboree is coming soon, so you should check out our preview of it!
