After years of waiting and being frustrated, our gaming friends in the Land Down Under will finally be able to get their hands on Valve’s Steam Deck, officially. After being spotted at PAX AUS 2024 by VR enthusiast Brad Lynch, who confirmed ahead of Valve announcing to the rest of the gaming world that the Steam Deck will be launching in Australia as of November 2024. That’s two years after the Steam Deck was launched in North America.

All three versions of the Steam Deck: 256GB LCD ($649), 512GB OLED ($899), and 1TB OLED ($1049) will be available. There wasn’t any mention of the limited edition Steam Deck 1TB version would also be released.

While it’s good to see that those living in Australia will finally be able to purchase a Steam Deck, without purchasing one without a warranty. The downside to this all is that those prices are ridiculous. While Australia may be a nice place to visit, those prices are exactly why our buddy here at The Outerhaven is constantly complaining about anything gaming-related being so damned expensive.
