Concord has been updated in the backend 11 days in a row according to SteamDB data. We don't know the specifics of these updates, but it's proof that Sony and Firewalk Studios aren't abandoning their very expensive failed live-service project completely.
The community has been speculating that Concord might return as a free-to-play title with cosmetic microtransactions in the hopes that a small, core fan base could recoup some development costs. It certainly wouldn't be the first turnaround in gaming history, but it would be one of the unlikeliest. Concord debuted to no fanfare and ultimately failed to attract the attention of players, but perhaps its cult status of being a very expensive flop could help garner more attention around a re-launch.
After all, the problem with Concord was never that it seemed unfinished or technically deficient; the problem was that Concord is a pay-to-play live-service hero shooter developed by an unknown studio that isn't attached to a popular IP and launched in a market that's becoming increasingly hostile to live-service titles. Success wasn't impossible, but it wasn't likely, either.
The critical reception for Concord wasn't too bad either, with a lot...
