During the month of October, Amazon Prime Gaming is offering the critically acclaimed DOOM Eternal for subscribers to claim for free, along with a number of other notable games. Originally released in 2020, Doom Eternal is the second game in the soft reboot of the DOOM franchise that started with DOOM (2016), developed by id Software. At the time of writing, DOOM Eternal is the latest game in the franchise, but an upcoming prequel game, the medieval-themed DOOM: The Dark Ages, is set for release at an unspecified date in 2025.
As of October 11, Amazon Prime members can claim DOOM Eternal for free on Prime Gaming, along with several other games. Notably, the game is not becoming part of the Amazon Luna cloud gaming service, which functions similarly to Xbox Game Pass, but can instead be claimed and permanently added to a user's Prime Gaming library during October. Unfortunately, however, the offer isn't permanent, as after November 13, DOOM Eternal will no longer be free on Prime Gaming.
