Mike Bithell and Devolver Digital have announced Tron: Catalyst, an "isometric story-driven action game" set in the world of Tron that's coming to PC and consoles next year.
The game, which will be released through Devolver's new Big Fan label, will combine "electrifying action and a rich story" set in what Bithell calls "the immersive and diverse locations of the Arq Grid".
You might recognize that term if you've played Bithell Games' previous Tron game, Tron: Identity, a visual novel released last year that first introduced the Arq Grid to the Tron universe.
You play as Exo, a "highly resilient and resourceful program" armed with a power known as the Glitch. Using that power, you must battle your way through the Arq Grid, dealing with the sinister machinations of malevolent AI Conn as you go.
Bithell is promising a "dynamic combat system" that will allow you to engage in both melee and ranged combat, and you'll also have access to one of the Tron franchise's iconic Light Cycles, which you can also use to do battle.
As you explore the Arq Grid, you'll also be able to uncover "secret areas and shortcuts" using Exo's Glitch ability, which can help...
