Bungie's Destiny franchise is finally headed to mobile devices. Announced today, Bungie is collaborating with seasoned mobile developer NetEase (Dead by Daylight Mobile, Naraka Bladepoint) for Destiny: Rising, which is a free-to-play game that seeks to bring the Destiny experience to mobile gamers.
Destiny: Rising will take place in an "alternate timeline" featuring new stories, characters, abilities, and more. The announcement was accompanied by a trailer featuring "pre-alpha in-game capture" footage.
While no release date is mentioned, the F2P game's first closed alpha kicks off on November 1. Those interested can sign up to playtest the game on iOS or Android devices. Alongside the announcement trailer, the studio also pushed out a "Developer Preview," in which NetEase talks about Destiny: Rising and their goal in creating the franchise's mobile version.
