Halo’s Master Chief Almost Made It To Modern Warfare 3

According to prominent leaker @TheGhostOfHope, a potential Modern Warfare 3 and Halo collaboration was scrapped earlier this year.

Another big name in the Call of Duty leaking scene, @charlieINTEL, corroborated @TheGhostOfHope’s claim, saying the collaboration was canceled before release for unknown reasons.

Both COD and Halo, previously owned by different companies, now fall under Microsoft’s ownership after it acquired Activision Blizzard, allowing for this collaboration.

It’s unclear what the collaboration would have brought on, as information is scant. Still, as with previous COD collaborations, it would likely have been a Master Chief bundle. While some fans were thankful, saying these collaborations are turning the franchise into Fortnite, others were disappointed and excited at the prospect of running around as the Spartan supersoldier.

Had it gone through, COD players would’ve gotten killed with Halo’s energy sword for the first time in either series’ history.

Replying to Hope’s post, leaker @CODIIINTEL alluded to a possible Black Ops 6 and Halo collaboration that could've caused the cancelation. Given that MW3 is last year's COD, this makes sense. Activision Blizzard would want to capitalize on their newest game, not an older one.

A Master Chief bundle would undoubtedly sell incredibly well—something the developers...
