Marvel Rivals Devs Are Confident Their Game Won’t Be Another Concord

Concord will forever be regarded as one of gaming's biggest-ever failures. A reported toxic work environment saw the game fail to attract any kind of audience, leading to it closing down after two weeks and its director leaving Firewalk Studios.

Revealed to TheGamer, there will be more heroes added to the roster pre-launch.

With Marvel Rivals soon to enter a similar space in the gaming landscape, I got to chat with the game's director, Guangyun Chen, at this year's Tokyo Game Show. During our conversation, we spoke about everything, from the Marvel IP to the comparisons to Concord.

When I asked Chen whether he had any concerns about what happened with Concord happening to his game, he simply responded, "No. We're confident with our game."

"The ideology behind our design is to make it fun for people, for the players," Chen added, citing the Marvel brand as something that "allows us to have unique gameplay and really stands us out from the shooting game perspective."
