Project 007 Won't Be A "Gamification Of A Movie"

IO Interactive certainly appears to be the right studio to create a modern James Bond title. After all, Bond and Agent 47 employ some of the same stealthy methods despite their differing professions. We don't know too much about Project 007 just yet, but IO Interactive head Hakan Abrak revealed some of the studio's ambitions for the title in an interview with IGN.

"We absolutely feel like 20-plus years of training for the agent fantasy, creating an agent that travels the world and globetrotting whatnot, has given us some know-how on that," Abrak said. "But obviously James Bond is a different IP. It's a huge IP. It's not our IP. It's actually the first IP that is not our original IP from the ground up."

It's not just going to be a re-telling of one of Daniel Craig or Pierce Brosnan's adventures, though. IO is going to tell an original story that won't be the "gamification of a movie." Abrak has high hopes for the project, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond.
