The Nintendo 64 is one of the most revered gaming systems ever made, and a new product from gaming hardware company Analogue could be the ultimate option for hardcore fans. Known for systems like the Analogue Pocket, the company focuses on delivering hardware capable of mimicking classic game systems rather than relying on software emulation options. This approach tends to come at a higher price than most alternatives, but a high standard of quality helps justify the investment.
As announced in a Twitter post from the official Analogue account, the Analogue 3D, "a reimagining of the N64" that accepts original Nintendo 64 cartridges, will be available to preorder on October 21 at 8 AM PDT. The system is poised as the ultimate version of the Nintendo 64, boasting complete compatibility with every game and upgrades like 4K resolution, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a new 3D OS built specifically for the Analogue 3D.
Unsurprisingly, the Analogue 3D doesn't come cheap, with the console listed for $249.99 on the official Analogue store in both a black and white version. Bluetooth controllers by 8BitDo are sold separately for $39.99 apiece.
