2003 PS2 Game May Be Making a Comeback on PS5

It looks like Sony may be planning on re-releasing the 2003 PlayStation 2 game Primal on its new emulator. Beginning in 2016, Sony began porting PlayStation 2 games to the PS4 with some enhancements and new features like trophy support. Unfortunately, some of these games have suffered from performance issues on the PS5.

To help combat these issues, Sony has started bringing PS2 games to a new emulator on both PS4 and PS5. The most recent example of this is Siren, the classic survival-horror/stealth game that was previously available on PS4, but was re-released on the new emulator with a Platinum trophy and better performance on PS5. Now it seems that a 2003 PS2 game is next in line.

These PS2 games are even better with the PS5’s emulated features.

It was recently discovered that Sony has pulled 2003 PS2 action-adventure game Primal from sale on the PS5 PlayStation Store. This semi-delisting points in the direction of Primal making its way to the new PS2 emulator, which means it will likely be adding a Platinum trophy, like Siren did.
