Goodbye, Choices: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Campaign Will Only Have One Ending

Call of Duty has changed a lot since its 2003 release. The biggest transformation is from a story-driven single-player game with a multiplayer sideshow to a multiplayer blockbuster with a campaign that feels like a demo.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming out on October 25, and the game has leaned heavily on historical figures and the post-Cold War chaos in its marketing materials.

It would be easy to think that such reliance on history was going somewhere. Treyarch creative director Jon Zuk and production director Yale Miller have revealed some details about the campaigns, and it does not look good.

The biggest shock for a Treyarch Black Ops title is that, for the first time, the campaign will only have one ending.

Previous editions, including the recent Black Ops Cold War campaign, still gave the player some agency. The different outcomes helped add some replayability to the short stories.
