Remedy Entertainment has announced that Alan Wake 2 will receive a free anniversary update on October 22 that is packed with features that have been requested by the game’s community. This free update comes as Alan Wake 2 is about to celebrate its first anniversary, with Remedy Entertainment continuing to improve players’ experience with the addition of new features and bug fixes.
Alan Wake 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2010 psychological horror title, was released in October 2023. The game follows two interconnected storylines involving best-selling novelist Alan Wake, who has been trapped in an alternate dimension for over a decade, and an FBI agent named Saga Anderson. Alan Wake 2 was met with enthusiasm from both players and critics, selling over 1.3 million units by February 2024 and being nominated for multiple Game of the Year awards. Following this success, developer Remedy Entertainment released the first DLC expansion for Alan Wake 2, Night Springs, expanding the story with three extra episodes. A second DLC, The Lake House, is set to release on October 22.
