Silent Hill 2 Remake Patch Reportedly Introduces Game Breaking Bug

Bloober Team released a substantial Silent Hill 2 Remake patch, fixing many technical issues and bugs but unfortunately, the studio may also have introduced a new game-breaking bug with the update (thanks, Eurogamer).

According to player reports, the patch is soft-locking players in the game's Labyrinth section. There's a bug in the Labyrinth's second area where a door doesn't open when it should during the cube puzzle, halting progress. There are multiple reports of this bug from players on a Reddit thread about the patch.

"The latch broke the labyrinth on PS5 sadly. The cube puzzle is not updating after completing a zone," pberg28 writes. "Literally saved and quit last night after finishing the first path, to wake up to an update that might've broken it. I'm a PC player so just know Steam's version is broken too. Waiting to see if they release a super quick hotfix soon," adds charlcttebug.

There are two entries in the full patch notes that concern the Labyrinth: "Fixed an issue where, after completing the Disgust Path in Labyrinth, the player was forced to do it all over again," and "Fixed an issue with triggering Spider Mannequin on Fear Path...
