It would be easy for Palworld developer Pocketpair to get carried away with its success. It did sell three million copies in its first two days and garner over two million concurrent players on Steam at its peak, after all.

But while many companies would be setting their sites on sequels, Pocketpair confirmed to TheGamer at this year's Tokyo Game Show that it would be doing the opposite, doubling down on its support for the original, slightly controversial title.
I asked Pocketpair if, given the success of the original, their next plan was to work on a sequel, especially now we know that Palworld wouldn't be going live service.
It told me: “We haven’t made any plans for a sequel, but we are always thinking about ways to expand the world of Palworld further. For now, we’re focused on bringing new content and updates to our players.”
