EA has confirmed that it is shutting down Rory McIlroy PGA Tour on January 16, 2025. EA keeps a running list of the games it is shutting down and delisting. It's disappointing that this happens at all, as it is awful for game preservation, but at least EA gives gamers enough notice so that they can play these games before they're gone.

EA has shut down multiple games in 2024 already, with even more on the chopping block in the near future. In fact, at least five EA games are shutting down in November, with FIFA 22 shutting down on November 4, and Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 (PS3/Xbox 360), Battlefield: Hardline (PS3/Xbox 360), and NBA Live 18 all shutting down on November 7. It remains to be seen what all EA is shutting down in 2025, but another game has been confirmed for the January shutdown list in the meantime.
