On social media, US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), also known as AOC, announced that she would return to Twitch to face vice presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) in Madden NFL 25. The games will be broadcast on AOC's Twitch channel on October 27, just nine days before Election Day in the US.
The Madden NFL stream between AOC and Gov. Walz will be held days after another Democratic Party figure was featured on the Amazon-owned service. On October 22, US Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) joined popular content creators like Valkyrae, Sykkuno, Pokimane, and celebrities Mark Hamill and Mark Cuban for a Twitch broadcast to discuss some of the prevalent issues surrounding the 2024 presidential campaign. During the Twitch stream, Sen. Sanders brought up topics such as women's rights, climate change, and making healthcare and higher education more affordable across the country.
