Xbox parent Microsoft has reportedly revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was an unprecedentedly successful launch in the history of the highly decorated franchise and also for Xbox Game Pass. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the 21st entry in the long-running series and was released on October 25, 2024, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Last week, Black Ops 6 became the first Call of Duty game to have a day-one launch on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, setting an exciting precedent for the subscription service. Despite some technical issues, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has mostly fared well since launch, with both its campaign and multiplayer aspects getting praise. In particular, special laurels were given to Black Ops 6's campaign mode, an area where the sentiment has long been that Call of Duty titles have fallen short in terms of their story. On the monetary front as well, the game has apparently become an overwhelming success.
