The publisher of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has threatened bans for players using mods in Custom Battles. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero fans have used Custom Battles to create their own scenarios since launch, but that may all change with an upcoming ban wave.
Since it was released, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has been a wild success for Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft. The latest Dragon Ball fighting game sold 3 million copies in one day, raising the bar for the franchise. One of the main appeals of Sparking Zero is its return to the Budokai Tenkaichi series, which was popular on the sixth generation of consoles. The game also features a roster of 182 characters which dwarfs earlier entries in the series. Some players have been using mods to create their own battles, sometimes featuring characters beyond this roster. Bandai Namco has confirmed that Custom Battles using mods run the risk of being banned.
A mod makes it possible to add Nemona from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet into the recently released fighting game Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.
