Treyarch has announced a fix for an issue in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 that limited some players' double XP gains during the game's first 2XP weekend. The latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise hadn't even been out for a week before an event offered twice the amount of experience in its multiplayer mode, but unlucky users quickly found the event wasn't working as intended. After issuing an update to address it, Black Ops 6's developers have extended the double XP weekend to give players more time to capitalize on it.

It didn't take long for Call of Duty fans to discover the bug. Players called out the issue with Black Ops 6's first 2XP weekend not even a day into the event, with one user earning just 6,000 XP for a game where they scored 12,340. The difference was so stark that some even suggested that Treyarch and Activision intentionally lowered the amount of experience for the weekend. Now, it's clear that wasn't the case, and gamers should be able to get the XP they'd expect from the event, with an extra day added to make up for it.
