Dragon Age: The Veilguard Makes Fun Of Origins' Most Annoying Quest

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is full of references to previous games, and a player has just found another one. In a line of dialogue that will only make sense to anyone who played Dragon Age: Origins, Rook references the events of one of the game's least favourite quests - one that many like to skip of their playthroughs.

I am, of course, speaking about the Fade segment in Dragon Age: Origins. This is part of the Broken Circle quest and involves painstakingly finding your way through a maze and fighting enemies to free your companions from the Fade. Over the years, it's gained a reputation for being one of the most frustrating parts of Origins, something BioWare is clearly aware of.

"How do I get past the locks? Turn myself into a mouse? Fight a bunch of giant spiders?" asks Rook. This is a clear reference to the Fade in Origins where you had to unlock shapeshifting abilities to escape, one of the forms being a mouse.

I mean, I like the Fade part of Origins, but considering the mod to skip it has more than 300,000 unique downloads, I think I'm in the minority there.
