The sequel will bring Rockstar's open-world video game series into the 2020s and back to Vice City, as a criminal couple embarks on a new journey in the fictional US state of Leonida. Development can be traced back to 2018, with Grand Theft Auto 6's first trailer released in December 2023 to record-setting viewership across social media.
Recently, video game journalist Geoff Keighley unveiled a new release window for the long-awaited game through his personal X account. During Rockstar parent company Take Two Interactive's most recent earnings call, Keighley revealed that they hope to release Grand Theft Auto 6 within the "fall of calendar 2025."
