New GTA 6 Release Window Revealed (& The 11-Year Wait May Finally End Soon)

After over eleven years of waiting since Grand Theft Auto 5 was released, the next installment in the series may be on the horizon as Grand Theft Auto 6 receives a release window. The sequel will bring Rockstar's open-world video game series into the 2020s and back to Vice City, as a criminal couple embarks on a new journey in the fictional US state of Leonida. Development can be traced back to 2018, with Grand Theft Auto 6's first trailer released in December 2023 to record-setting viewership across social media.

Recently, video game journalist Geoff Keighley unveiled a new release window for the long-awaited game through his personal X account. During Rockstar parent company Take Two Interactive's most recent earnings call, Keighley revealed that they hope to release Grand Theft Auto 6 within the "fall of calendar 2025." As such, Grand Theft Auto 6 may finally be in gamer's hands between late September 2025 and December 2025.
