Just a few days after initially nerfing the Recon Specialty benefit, Treyarch has nerfed it once again. This time, however, it's been nerfed for good.
As outlined in the Call of Duty blog, Recon has had its benefit duration completely halved. Originally, the length that enemies in Black Ops 6 were highlighted was a flat 2.0 seconds. After the game's first major patch, that figure was cut to 1.5 seconds. Now, it'll only last 1 second, essentially nerfing it for good.
While it appears to be a significant overcorrection, Treyarch is amenable to adjusting things in the future. Per the blog, the developer "will continue to monitor data and feedback on Combat Specialties throughout post-launch."

For the uninitiated, the Recon Combat Specialty was a benefit that was available to players who equipped three Recon perks in the same class. Through that perk, "enemies can be seen through walls for a short time after respawn; a HUD edge indicator flashes when an enemy is outside your view; leave no death skulls when killing enemies."
