Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Is Being Made For "Future Generations"

As far as video game characters are concerned, few are as iconic as Metal Gear Solid's Snake. However, for as iconic as Snake is, not many gamers, particularly younger gamers, are familiar with the series that he's part of. In other words, no, Snake is not from Super Smash Bros., though that would be pretty cool if he were.

It's with that lack of familiarity in mind that Konami elected to remake Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Indeed, according to producer Noriaki Okamura, part of the purpose of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is to introduce younger players to Snake and the larger world of Metal Gear.

In an interview with GamesRadar, Okamura affirmed that many young players simply aren't familiar with the larger Metal Gear series, which prompted the creation of Delta: Snake Eater. “One of the things that really sparked us to do the remake in general is because we realized that a lot of the newer, younger generation of gamers aren’t familiar with the Metal Gear series anymore,” he said.
