The upcoming PlayStation 5 console exclusive, Forever Skies, has a demo available on the PS Store now. Forever Skies was originally released on PC via Steam and has been in early access since June 22, 2023. It was announced in February 2024 that developer Far From Home had signed a deal with Sony to release Forever Skies as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive. Originally slated for 2024, the game’s release has since been pushed into early 2025.
Forever Skies is a post-apocalyptic first-person survival game where players return to an Earth that has fallen into ruin after an ecological disaster. Players are tasked with constructing and upgrading a mobile airship base that will carry them to new locations filled with danger. Amid all the scavenging and exploration, players will also be trying to find a cure for a mysterious illness. While it looks to offer a rich and unique sci-fi setting, some fans have been quick to label Forever Skies as a survival game about climate change.
Upgrading the basic ship in Forever Skies isn't too difficult once players know what resources to look for.
