Helldivers 2 has never been afraid of making subtle references to popular IPs. Apart from the fact that the game is heavily based on Starship Troopers, you can see similarities in certain armour sets based on Star Wars, a planet named after popular Hollywood actor Vernon Wells, and making John Helldiver canon using the A-Team intro.

Let's be realistic here.

Arrowhead has never been shy about these references. In fact, COO Johan Pilestedt has said that he'd love to do crossovers with IPs like Aliens, Starship Troopers, Terminator and Warhammer 40K among others. Until then, though, Helldivers 2 will have to stick to making subtle references, like this latest one on Jurassic Park.

While we learnt about Tyranny Park's existence a while ago, it seems there has been an unfortunate but unsurprising development. A recent Emergency Update in the game revealed that "The Terminid Research Center has suffered a catastrophic security breach. A massive subterranean hive erupted underneath Tyranny Park, massacring visitors and staff. The cause is under investigation, but previous unresolved incursions into the planetary perimeter may have been a factor."
