Former Dragon Age: The Veilguard artist Nick Thornborrow has revealed several narrative sketches detailing everything from the opening Solas ritual to Ghilan'nain's attack on Weisshaupt. But what really stands out is a cut romance scene with Lucanis.
For a man with a demon living inside of him, Lucanis' romance is surprisingly vanilla. There's an implied sex scene, but it ends with a snuggle on the sofa as the two of you talk through all hours of the night. Thornborrow's art paints a far different picture.
Lucanis' purple wings emerge, his eyes glow, and he passionately kisses Rook (after pulling a weapon on them, naturally). It then cuts to the pair making out in a Treviso lake, before moving to a gondola boat to make out some more in the dingy shadows of a tunnel. It's a lot more risqué and adventurous than a snuggle at home.
Already, fans are in agreement that this scrapped Lucanis romance scene is far better than what we got, with one commenter even arguing that it should have been kept for when Rook and Lucanis slipped out at the party.
