Pokemon Scarlet and Violet pulled back the curtain on a new Shiny distribution event, as players have just a few days to claim a Shiny Pelipper modeled after a championship-winning critter. The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Shiny distribution is done via a Mystery Gift code, but players will not have long to redeem it.
Known as the Water Bird Pokemon, Pelipper first appeared in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Pelipper is a Water and Flying dual-type critter that evolves from Wingull at level 25 and has access to various attacks that can catch unsuspecting foes off guard. Although Pelipper has a quadruple weakness to Electric-type attacks, its high physical defense and access to moves like U-Turn and Substitute allow Pelipper to protect itself and switch out quickly. As a rain setter via the Drizzle ability, Pelipper can use moves like Hurricane for serious damage, making it one of the best competitive Water-type Pokemon available.
