PC Gamers Have Chance to Claim 2014 Game for Free

PC gamers can claim The Whispered World: Special Edition for free until December 15, thanks to a limited-time giveaway from GOG. A subsidiary of CD Projekt, the online PC gaming storefront GOG regularly gives gamers the chance to grab a free title or two.

A point-and-click adventure game developed by Daedalic Entertainment and published by Deep Silver, The Whispered World was originally released in 2009. It takes players on a journey into a dream world called Silentia, where a sad 12-year-old circus clown named Sadwick keeps having nightmares about the end of the world. The troubled boy sets out to find an oracle to see if she can interpret his dreams, and his pet caterpillar, Spot, decides to come along.

GOG announces its new video game preservation program, which is intended to keep even old releases in the hands of gamers for years to come.

GOG will be giving away a free copy of The Whispered World: Special Edition until around 6 AM PST on December 15. The game’s special edition, which was released in 2014, has some extra goodies for gamers to enjoy, including audio commentary from two of the project’s writers. The updated...
