If you really think about it, Infinity Nikki and Dark Souls have quite a lot in common. Sure, you won't find an Asylum Demon or Ceaseless Discharge while playing Infinity Nikki, or an adorable little anime girl in a pink dress while playing Dark Souls, but both fanbases have a strong sense for fashion and like to engage in a bit of jolly cooperation.
Infinity Nikki doesn't have very robust multiplayer - not yet anyway - and the only way you can really interact with other players is via the Pear-Pal, or the Snapshot feature, which lets you take group photos without being in each other's world. However, this feature has proven a lot more cooperative than developer Infold Games probably intended.
When placing down a Snapshot, players can pose and leave messages for each other, which is meant to be used as a bit of lovely little communication between strangers. Of course, how it's meant to be used is often not how it's actually used, and as spotted by PC Gamer, a lot of fans have been using Snapshots to guide other players towards hidden objects and give away answers to puzzles.
