CD Projekt Red made an endearing wardrobe change at The Game Awards 2024 shortly after the cinematic launch trailer of The Witcher 4. Following the conclusion of the trailer, the team behind the action RPG series The Witcher, as well as the controversial Cyberpunk 2077, made a quick change of clothes into custom Witcher jackets.
Audience members and fans were understandably occupied with the unveiling of the sequel to 2015's Game of the Year, The Witcher 3, which sees Ciri take on her role as a Witcher. The trailer shows her taking on a contract and dealing with the consequences shortly after its completion, in typical Witcher style. At the trailer's conclusion, a video posted online shows the developers making the wardrobe switch, which was a heartfelt moment for CD Projekt Red after a period of great difficulty.
