Besides all the hard everyday tasks of a farmer, players can also choose to start a family with one of the eligible villagers from town.
Family life doesn't always go according to plan, though. Luckily, Stardew Valley has a marriage mechanic, but it also has a way to divorce in-game spouses. One fan found to their surprise that Mayor Lewis disapproved of their ways when they tried to divorce another of the game's characters. Reddit user GlumTurtle was met with the following line of dialogue from the mayor when they filed for another divorce: "Another divorce? C'mon, Reinna… you should be a little more careful who you decide to marry in the future…"
