offlnegamer Baldur's Gate 3 Review

As someone who came into this game with almost zero knowledge of DND and the Baldur's Gate franchise as a whole, I can say with the utmost confidence, Baldur's Gate 3 wasn't on my radar. I gave this game a shot based off the hype surrounding it alone, and after nearly 500 hours put into it, it has become one of my favorite games ever made. The main highlight of BG3 is the gripping and immersive story and the cast of diverse and interesting characters. The journey with these characters and seeing where they start, as opposed to where they end up, is nothing short of brilliant. The story is truly engaging and allows us as the player to shape that story to how we see fit. Nearly every single choice and action has some type of consequence, making for almost endless replay-ability. One aspect of BG3 I wasn't expecting to love as much as I did is the combat. While not for everybody, the turn based movement and combat mechanics truly allow the player the freedom to approach scenarios in so many fun, creative ways. Overall, Baldur's Gate 3 is not only a recommendation for those who are into this type of game but, like me, those who are not. Every gamer should give this game a try. Baldur's Gate 3 is truly one of the greatest games ever created, can't wait to see what Larian does next!
