This is, in my honest opinion, the definitive First Person Shooter, locked and stocked with two smoking barrels. Get ready to fight like hell.
Admittedly it isn’t entirely perfect, I personally would have loved much more in depth career functions, such as not just being the driver, but actually being able to manage the team, and swap your team mates with other drivers from other teams. But, overall though, it’s an all-rounded fun game which any motorsport or F1 fanatic will enjoy.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the best so far in the series. The delay has really paid off for Eidos Montreal and Square Enix – sure, it meant we'd have to wait a couple more months, but it really has made a fantastic impact on how the game plays. Add a very fun and rewarding standalone Breach mode to a fantastic story complemented by great gameplay, and you've got what is an excellent game.
Carmageddon: Max Damage sees the player reduce pedestrians to gory slush across several arenas with cars built to cause mass devastation. Despite its issues, the game offers over 30 vehicles, 90 Power Ups, various game modes, several maps, and an Action Replay mode. You could argue that Max Damage would've been perfect back in the 90's or early 2000's when there was nothing else like it.
Whilst it may not be perfect, let's be honest, nothing ever is. Inside does have a few issues here and there with the story, but I don't care, the whole experience is an absolute gaming pleasure. Whilst it may not be a game that appeals to everyone and have a rather niche target market, those who love this genre will indeed, love this game.
We've been waiting a long time for another Mirror's Edge game, and we finally have it with Catalyst. While the storyline is quite predictable with dull characters, the gameplay is where it truly shines. The movement feels fluid, the time trials and social integration allows for replayability.
I recommend this game to anybody who's looking for a completely new style of playing. Even though it suffers from minor lag and a short story, there is definitely more good than bad here.Excellent: SuperHot is packed full of action without any down moments. The mix of exhilarating gameplay and stunning graphics unite to make one of the most unique games on the market so far in 2016.
The NASCAR Expansion finally brings the thrills of stock car racing to Forza Motorsport 6. With an all-new ten-hour NASCAR World Tour Career Mode, diverse Showcase Events, 24 stock cars with 3 unique modes, and the new Homestead-Miami Speedway with the Formula Drift course, racing fans are spoiled for choice with this one.
Driven by an immense storyline, action-packed parkour scenes and gunplay, and beautiful worlds, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is one of the best experiences you can find on PlayStation 4 – a true masterpiece.
DiRT Rally is definitely a game you should pick up, it will satisfy all your needs for extreme and intense off road racing. Even if you're not a hardcore car fan or massively good at racing games, you will enjoy the challenge that DiRT Rally has to offer.
Quantum Break is Remedy's most ambitious and immersive title yet.
Despite some annoyances with the gameplay mechanics and overused mission objectives, The Division truly is an exciting and immersive role-playing experience.
LEGO Marvel's Avengers allows fans of the film franchise to relive exciting moments throughout the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, across a number of movies like Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Captain America, Thor: The Dark World, and others.
Hitman's Intro Pack is a confident start to what I hope to be a fantastic season. With a fantastic Paris level showcasing how Hitman should be done, the game really takes you back to the roots of the franchise. I'm looking forward to playing the rest of the season, and seeing what else developer IO Interactive has to offer.
Far Cry Primal is without a doubt a step in the new direction for the franchise, telling a violent, but captivating story about the battle of the Wenja and Udam tribes. Despite some repetitive objectives, missions are action-packed and enjoyable, and taming beasts is easily my favourite feature found in Primal.
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 brings fun back into first-person shooters, reminding that this genre doesn't need to be serious to be absolutely fantastic. With a great hub world filled with content, and a brilliant multiplayer that improves on the already fantastic formula seen in the game's predecessor, it's something I feel like I'll be playing for a long time. And that's a good thing, because we all need more Plants vs. Zombies.
Street Fighter V is incredibly accessible, meaning that any player can hop on, get to grips with the controls, and have a great time. Competitive and casual players alike will find a home in Street Fighter V's diverse game modes and multiplayer matches. It's been a while coming, but Capcom's brilliant fighting series has finally returned.
Despite some flaws, Unravel is an injection of warmth and love, providing an incredible storybook adventure that's filled with wondrous memories that people can relate to.
Resident Evil Zero might have frustrating controls, clunky navigation, and the most punishing inventory system you can find. However, it's HD remaster makes the game look good and the updated controls, while still finicky, still provide an enjoyable gameplay experience.
Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India has competent gameplay and a vibrant touch of colour. However, lacking level design with cheap tactics designed to cause instant fail-states and tedious trailing missions take away from what could be a fantastic experience. Nevertheless, I still look forward to the next Chronicles game, Russia.
