Hobby Consolas's Reviews

Fractal Fall´s first game is a decent aerial "shooter" set in beautiful levels and full of interesting, yet undeveloped, ideas. Flight mechanics are ok, but gunplay is too basic.

87 / 100 - The Medium
Jan 27, 2021

Don't expect a horror game but a paranormal adventure, one that will intrigue and surprise you with some of its mechanics. A noteworthy and attractive experience that, maybe because of that, feels a little too short.

30 years after its release, Turrican is still a great 2D "run and gun" game. This remastered collection is extremely faithful to the original, and includes savegames, and rewind to make it easier for new players.

Being a straight PS2 port, without any improvement, will be enough for lots of players to not touch it. But if you want to discover one of the earlier Quantic Dream's adventures, replay it or simply collect it, you can't miss it. It still has "something" that makes it unique, even if if has been surpassed on the technical and narrative sides.

83 / 100 - Cyber Shadow
Jan 25, 2021

Cyber Shadow pays homage to classic ninja games such as Shinobi or Ninja Gaiden. It has a great "improved" 8 bit style, huge difficulty levels, and a satisfying 2D platform and combat gameplay.

80 / 100 - Hitman 3
Jan 19, 2021

Hitman 3 is a good entry in the series. It deliver beautiful levels, such as Dartmoor or Chonqing, new assassination tools and it allows players to import maps from the previous games (with improved graphics), buy still, it´s mechanics and some AI elements feel outdated.

10 years after its original release, Scott Pilgrim vs The World is still a great "retro" brawler, full of pop culture references, and incredibly fun in multiplayer (local or online, coop or versus) up to 4 players.

55 / 100 - My Hidden Things
Jan 7, 2021

My Hidden Things is based on classic finding objects puzzles, but it also adds some new mechanics, an interesting black and white visual approach and some narrative elements. Nevertheless it is short, and too simple.

Override 2 shows great character design in its twenty (plus Ultraman as a DLC) giant robots, and the combat system is simple, yet fun. But the game has some technical flaws and the enemy A.I. is poor.

60 / 100 - Godfall
Dec 22, 2020

A game that is simply correct on all fronts, entertaining and visually striking, but with abundant playable stumbles, glitches and an alarming paucity of content.

Jurassic World: Aftermath focuses its gameplay on one of the iconic scenes from the first film (the kitchen scene), making the stealth the main course and avoiding the raptors a chore you'll be repeating durint the 3-4 hours that lasts. It's slow and repetitive, you'll probably get tired very soon.

77 / 100 - Cyberpunk 2077
Dec 15, 2020

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the greatest RPGs of the generation. We love Night City, its characters and great writing for every mission. It is also one of the best looking games out there (if your PC is powerful enough). [OpenCritic note: David Martinez separately reviewed the PC (98) and PS4 (55) versions. His scores have been averaged.]

Above and Beyond has its share of problems, like a campaign that feels like a bunch of disjointed scenes... but when it hits the right key, offers intense and unforgetable moments. Add the memorable content of the Gallery and fun multiplayer modes, and you've got a game that isn't perfect, that will be enjoyed by IIWW games lovers.

75 / 100 - Summer in Mara
Dec 10, 2020

Summer in Mara is a beautiful indie game, full of interesting mechanics but gets too repetitive and it has to be enjoyed at a slow pace.

It's not the best version of the game, but it's the best possible port for Nintendo Switch. You'll miss the 60 fps and see the visual downgrade if you've played it on other platforms... but if that's not the case (you don't have other console or PC), or just wanna play DOOM Eternal anywhere, you'll enjoy it like on the rest of platforms.

80 / 100 - FIFA 21 Next Gen
Dec 6, 2020

FIFA 21 has gained some muscles with this version for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, although the playstile is the same we already saw in PS4 and Xbox One. EA Sports has not taken all the profit from the new hardware, but it is great that you can upgrade for free if you have the version for the previuos generation.

77 / 100 - Worms Rumble
Dec 4, 2020

The "mutation" of the Worms essence to battle royale dynamics works surprisingly well. Rumble is a fast, attractive and, more importantly, fun experience. It needs to grow in content, though.
