75 / 100 - Summer in Mara
Jun 15, 2020

Summer in Mara is a beautiful indie game, based in crafting, harvesting and exploration. But after a couple hours it gets repetitive. It is very enjoyable at a slow pace.

After going through the valley of the shadow of death, The Last of Us Part II comes out as a wayfaring stranger from future days. It's a technical and narrative triumph that defies some of the most basic concepts of the video game. It's brutally beautiful and painfully violent, it's capable of the best and the worst. It's a masterpiece.

70 / 100 - Desperados III
Jun 12, 2020

Mimimi Studios stays true to the genre. Desperados III has some outdated mechanics, and the game progression is based on trial and error, which is something the fans will love, but can be frustrating for newcomers.

XCOM 2 is one of the best turn-based tactical strategy games. It has a deep game system, the design is very good and it has a great sound. However, the switch to Nintendo Switch is not as good as it should be. It has a lot of bugs and graphic clippings, but if you want a strategy game in Switch, it's one of the best.

Unscored - Disintegration

It offers a distinct personality and really attractive challenges, but it needs a little more variety and a more balanced gameplay.

85 / 100 - Valorant
Jun 5, 2020

Valorant is a great multiplayer proposal, that although it includes elements from many other games , it's cohesion manages to entitle it a unique personality. Riot Games has been able to detect the genre by providing a game that remainds us of League of Legends for it soul and spirit, but that is not afraid to explore boundaires and establishes.

Shantae returns with her best adventure, at least in the technical side, with some original ideas (like the card system), but at the same time being faithful to the original formula. An entertaining metroidvania that will enjoy, in first place, longtime series' fans, as will the newcomers.

67 / 100 - Skelattack
Jun 2, 2020

With a lovely cast of characters and a gorgeous art style, fans of challenging 2D platformers will surely love Skellatack. It's a shame that because of some design flaws the challenge sometimes become frustration. Otherwise, you can clearly see there's a lot of potential here.

An impressive classic game compilation, fun and easy to play (either in TV mode with a Pro controller, touch screen or with joy-con motion controllers) that lacks depth, but still can be great in multiplayer.

Three great adventures masterfully ported to Nintendo Switch. They only missing feature is they're not running at 60 fps, but the rest is on spot, showing an adaptation on par with the PS4 and Xbox One remasters. Also, keep in mind that if you buy it, physical or digital, you will need a big microSD, because the download is quite big...

Blades is a free to play dungeon crawler set in the Elder Scrolls universe, with some interesting ideas, but repetitive, even boring, levels and poor combat mechanics.

A compelling DLC for an excellent game. It's more of the same, but with new and interesting characters.

81 / 100 - Song of Horror
May 27, 2020

A noteworthy homage to the survival horror classics, that offers son intelligent and refreshing ideas. It's difficulty curve and the stress the gameplay generates make the game an experience not recommended for the faint of heart.

As the name says, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is the best way to play and enjoy this terrific JRPG. But beyond all the welcome changes and QOL improvements, it's impressive how a lot of the original elements (like the story or the combat) are as enjoyable in 2020 as they were in 2011. Monolith Soft truly saw the future.

A "remaster" like Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy: the original content remains intact (gameplay, missions... even the flaws), and renew it all with a superb face wash, that show its best side with the light effects, reflections, models... A nice update of one great adventure that keeps giving fun like almost 10 years ago,

75 / 100 - Maneater
May 22, 2020

Maneater is extremely fun. An underwater sandbox, starring a killer shark, full of blood and gore, with a great sense of humor. But it has several technical issues and lacks variety.

A wonderful surprise for all of us that keep searching original games, different and pure fun. More fun than actual golf.

As previous iterations, Munch's Oddysee lacks the charm from the original 2D games. When it jumped to the 3D real, new doors were open, as new problems, focused in the camera and controls, that are present here. It's a more typical platformer, with easier puzzles. But it still is an endearing game that fans of the series will enjoy.
