Enter The Gungeon is an excellent example of a what a twin stick shooter should be and of a port done right. Its soundtrack and cool visuals are underpinned by an excellent control system and depth that keep you hooked.

A Night in the Woods is a game which requires patience and is best savoured like a good wine or meal. There is lots to explore, many strands of story to uncover, and Possom Springs is a place with characters which just draws you in. Once hooked, it doesn't let go until the credits roll. Mae is an imperfect cat with many vulnerabilities and that's why the story resonates so deep; because when you play this there is no doubt that many will have experienced some of the things in this game. Even though it is a supernatural adventure these are just characters living normal lives with everyday problems which the writers have brought to the fore with an excellent written script. I can't promise that this will be for everyone, but I can confidently say that those that are willing to give this one the time it deserves will be richly rewarded.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is platforming done right. From the tight controls, excellent level design, beautiful art style and great sound direction, there is much to like about Shantae's latest Switch adventure. There are many hours to enjoy with this one, and as such I highly recommend Shantae to any platforming game fans.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is a fantastic follow up to the Stick of Truth, its a must buy for any South Park aficionado and still a blast for everyone else. Ubisoft took the development in house this time and didn't disappoint, its well written with a giggle every few moments, the game isn't perfect with a few small bugs and the sense that the difficulty isn't there to support the games mechanics and some might argue the value but overall this game is just a blast.

Overall I think Yesterday Origins is a great experience for point and click adventure game fans. It presents a solid package very reminiscent of the second era of adventure gaming. If you liked Microids other efforts like the Syberia series, you’ll do well to pick this one up too as it’s more of the same, but potentially even better. Sure, a few presentation issues mar it a little as well as bizarrely sluggish controls but adventure fans will still enjoy it, even if it’s not going win any more people over to the genre. Still, if you want to settle down with a nice coffee or tea and play this one, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed, as long as you don’t mind checking a guide once in a while.

While the game does nothing original or unique in the genre it doesn't matter. If your after a traditional arcade racer to satisfy your racing urges then look no further. For $10 you are getting a game which is full of polish and overall is fun. This has an online mode to race against others and locally you can race with up to 4 players splitcreen. There is a great little career mode which feels satisfying. This is another tidy Indie game to add to the already vast Switch library and one which is easy to recommend at this price.

Overall, Typoman is still a really good puzzle platform game. It has a really unique concept that’s brilliantly executed. Puzzles and action moments are balanced really well, and it’s paced to perfection. The direction and wordplay are something to be admired. Sure, it may be a bit limited at times and the platforming sections may irk you somewhat, but that doesn’t stop it from being a game I can easily recommend.

Overall I think The Final Station is an excellent game, as far as survival games go it’s one of the more playable in my opinion. It keeps its gameplay fairly simple but the predictable gameplay loop really had me hooked, always switching between riding the train and going out exploring. The story and atmosphere provided really did add a lot to it though and if these had been lesser then maybe I wouldn’t hold it in the same high regard. It’s an interesting concept and I hope we can see more like this from the developers in the future.

Detention is an indie game which can hold it's own with the best. If you enjoy horror games then this is an essential addition to your collection. A good story steeped in history, great audio, visuals and gameplay where you will enjoy solving puzzles and avoiding ghosts. It does miss that action element some will crave and it's not the longest or most challenging game in the world but if you're after horror then turn the lights down, the sound up, and enjoy this dark and twisted horror experience.

This is a game I am thoroughly enjoying and due to the nature of it, it's a game I will play for many more hours taking down countless more of those bosses and crafting more armour. They are the parts I enjoyed the most but I think there is something here for everyone, you may like to build great buildings or just dungeon crawl. You may like to just mess around with friends online which is great. The point is there is something here for everyone and it's a great little package which is very easy for me to recommend. Temper that at the moment though with the memory issue which is plaguing the game for some users. A patch has been submitted which should fix the problem and I am glad the developers have looked to fix it quickly. My score is a 8 on the basis that this patch fixes the game. You buy the game at your own risk until that point.

Overall Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King delivers on its promise in recreating a gaming classic and gives us an ode to one of the best games of all time. Could it have done a bit more to be different? Yes, though perhaps that is its strength - its not pretending to be a completely different game, rather it pays homage and adds a few small features that comes together as a fun experience.

Outlast 2 builds on the original. Its longer, tougher and has some darker scenes than its predecessor. Some of that games frustrations are still here and towards the end the same formula starts to wear thin but its part and parcel of this type of game and overall this is a game that will get under your skin and make you scream out loud. Its truly terrifying and an example of what horror games should be. One that all horror fans should pick up - if you can stomach it!

8 / 10.0 - Iron Crypticle

The wonderful visuals, composition of music, as well as writing, touched my heart on so many layers. Loving a good narrative that left me thinking, The Lion’s Song encouraged you to make your own impressions and reflect on the stories. Released in 2017, the Switch port of Austrian indie game is not that old but has possibly one of the worst release dates this year. Just a few days before Octopath Traveler! It’s sad because this game deserves a lot and even had won an award last year and is, in my opinion, worth your time and money if you are a fan of this genre or want to try something new in that direction.

Vostok Inc. is a fun little retro-inspired SHMUP which gives you the freedom to fly around solar systems as you please unlike most games from the genre which scroll automatically. It has a ton of resource management which will appeal to many fans of games like The Sims or Civilization. I don't personally like many shoot 'em up games, but thanks to the resource management and RPG elements in this game, I just couldn't put it down. And even once the game started to get repetitive, I started finding executives who gave me access to a great many mini games that pleasantly took me back to my childhood. While this game isn't going to blow people away with its visual prowess, storytelling capabilities or music, it will entertain most people who get it for a fair amount of time. I enjoyed this one quite a lot and will give it a very solid 8/10.

I didn't know what to expect with this Subsurface Circular review, the game was billed as a short play experience in between main projects for the developer and I think it fits this role for its audience as well. If you have a few hours to burn they will be well spent picking this up, you may find yourself reflecting on our current world landscape from a slightly different perspective and playing through this game is a smooth and easy go along ride. For such a small investment in money and time its fair to say that this game packs a punch and if you are not put off by what you have read then its definitely a worthwhile experience.
