Burning Shores is a bit more Horizon Forbidden West, with all that entails. There are various new enemies, some welcome new gameplay additions, and a new map to explore.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is undeniably one of the best remakes we've seen in recent years and one of the cases that helped to show even to the most skeptical (yes, I'm talking about me) the greatness of Sinji Mikami and his then golden team's work. Without get rid all of its vulnerabilities, the remake brings one of the greatest video games of all time beautifully into 2023.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is a special game that deserves your attention especially if you are a fan of the main series. It's a very enjoyable addition to the franchise with new ideas and enjoyable gameplay with PlatinumGames' style being impressive once again. This isn't some indie release, but a complete package that will keep you busy for about 15 hours if you want to do everything it has to offer. I recommend investing your time if you want to learn more about the iconic lady and her background, or if you're looking for something different on your Nintendo Switch.

Atomic Heart is not the Soviet BioShock, as many are quick to label it, because to "be" BioShock, you need to do everything as well as Irrational Games' masterpiece did. However, it's a game that very much wants to be like BioShock and indeed in many parts it draws clear influences from the creation of Kevin Levine. So, those of you who like this kind of "thinking FPS", with strange content and setting that your eye is not used to, you may find something very interesting in Atomic Heart, which is already leaving its touch in the industry for many pleasant and also for many not so pleasant reasons.

Kirby's Return To Dreamland Deluxe is a good Kirby game but not great. It's tuned to perfection to deliver the traditional, laid-back action-platform gameplay of the series, while also being a decent party game. The new content brings even more variety to the "package" and certainly adds points to it. It may not thrill any player and may lack that creative "spark" a bit, but it does the job flawlessly. It's a well-crafted and entertaining experience for all ages.

ILCA's turn-based experience comes with a different twist, but Luffy's pirate adventure is definitely not for everyone, with a few minor hiccups. While one can easily discern the passion and the vision of the team, more or less the repetitiveness of the game with its missions, the non-existent difficulty beyond the basic bosses, combined with the over-reliance on nostalgia, results in a mediocre experience that often tends to be tedious and appeals mainly to those who already love the popular Shōnen series.

Hogwarts Legacy wants to offer a certain fantasy and does it purposefully and successfully. It is the "Harry Potter" game that the average fan has always dreamed of. The metaphor of the universe is done very aptly and the game world is for me, its greatest achievement. Beautiful and lively, it is, I would say, in itself a reason to deal with it, even if he is not particularly moved by Harry Potter. Beneath this shiny wrapper, there is a well-realized but trivial open world world that carries with it almost all the pathogenesis of the genre, while, narratively, although it has good times, the main story moves in shallow water. Despite its striking weaknesses, however, it is so extensive and meticulously constructed that I consider that as a whole, it fulfills its purpose.

It was perfect and now it got even better. If you're one of the old school this is the time to return and if you're one of those who haven't experienced it yet, then this is the time to jump in.

Fire Emblem Engage features an excellent combat system that I'm sure fans of the genre will appreciate. It's smart, balanced, and with enough depth to absorb the player into its mechanics. It always rewards patience, organization and strategic combination of units and punishes rushing and "heroics". However, the rest of the game that frames this combat system is, unfortunately, in my opinion, disappointing.

High on Life kept me busy for about 12 hours and almost every minute I had a smile painted on my face. If you like the humor of Rick and Morty and Justin Roiland, start downloading already. If, on the other hand, you want a more grounded and serious experience, I can't recommend High on Life so easily, as the whole experience is clearly based on this extreme sense of humor.

The Callisto Protocol is a game that can be divisive. I think that fans of the genre, like myself, will accept and enjoy it, since overall it gives an decent sci-fi survival horror adventure, which does not reinvent the wheel, but knows how to win over space horror fans. The rest of you who aren't crazy about the theme and setting would do well to stay away as there are better games out there to invest your time and money into.

If you like fast-paced melee combat games or if you are baked by the B-movie aesthetic and want something mindless, you will definitely have a good time. If on the other hand if you are looking for something more, you better invest elsewhere.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet bring some innovative ideas to the series and freshen it up slightly, with new features that are certainly worthwhile. It's Nintendo's classic and successful formula, with the ninth generation being extremely interesting, with brand new Pokémon, new missions and ideas that are sure to "ring a bell" for hardcore gamers. Is this the next step that Game Freak has been waiting for? The answer is...sort of.

Signalis is an indie triumph, a grand tribute to the golden age of survival horror, with a "small body" but a "huge soul". It is a game that will plunge players deep into dark paths of the human soul and bathe them in emotions that will touch them like few games. You shouldn't miss it!

God of War: Ragnarok is the definition of a sequel and the ultimate advertisement for what videogames have come to. It's the block buster that puts to shame similar productions in other entertainment industries.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II has a quality single-player campaign, with an incredible technical area, elusive production values and unbeatable gunplay. Despite its few weaknesses, it manages to differentiate itself, offering a more military experience that goes beyond simple shooting galleries and spectacular set-pieces.

Sparks of Hope seems like an ideal sequel. It tries to develop every aspect of Kingdom Battle that was limited, but it also tries to freshen up even the systems that admittedly worked perfectly.
