There’s no doubt that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II surpasses Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice in most aspects. From its bold take on an emotional story with powerful moments and a unique direction, it delivers an unprecedented level of precision in portraying psychosis. The experience dives deep into the psyche, supported by masterfully implemented spatial audio that enhances the core theme, alongside stunning, hyper-realistic visuals. However, some design choices—along with the lack of innovation in combat mechanics and the repetition of familiar puzzle designs—are areas that could have benefited from more refinement. Overall, Hellblade II is a visually cinematic journey well worth experiencing, though it does feel far too short.
