Patobah The Alters: Last Variable Review

The Alters is a survival and resource management game developed and published by 11 Bit Studios, featuring an expansion titled Last Variable. With engaging gameplay and a fantastic campaign, the highlight is the Alters—alternative versions of Jan Dolski’s life calculated by a quantum computer. Offering exceptional depth and character development, the Alters are the best part of the game. The expansion is a spin-off of the main campaign that follows Jan the Scientist on his mission to uncover more about the Oasis, expanding the game's universe and introducing new Alters. With a greater focus on research and the scientific method, the expansion further enriches the base game and elevates the overall experience. I highly recommend this title; it is one of my favorite games and my biggest surprise of 2025.
