shl0opy The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos Review
Nov 24, 2025
I can totally see why some people love it but I realized pretty quickly that it’s not my thing. The beginning was fun and I actually enjoyed learning how the combat works. But once everything made sense, I also realized I was getting bored.
Combat is original and the characters have amusing mechanics, but it’s slow. The game rewards tactical thinking, but also leans on luck and RNG.
There isn’t much team-building — you get a pre-made party with tons of abilities, buttons, and text. Sometimes it was overwhelming, and maybe I’m just not the kind of person who clicks with systems this dense, even if it was enjoyable in moments.
The humor worked occasionally, but a lot of it felt awkward.
I didn’t connect with any character and some archetypes (like the stereotypical dumb blonde) just annoyed me.
Still the silly art style was charming.
Exploring the dungeon was actually the part I liked most. The traps were fun, and some of the NPC interactions were surprisingly cute.
The story didn’t grab me — but since combat wasn’t exciting enough to carry the game either, I tried to pay attention. It still didn’t land for me.
And yes, it’s disappointing that there are no dialogue choices, though it was also a bit comforting to have a straightforward path.
Overall, it’s a game I wouldn’t return to, even though it isn’t bad. Just slow, mildly funny, mechanically heavy, and not emotionally engaging.
I’d recommend it to D&D or fantasy fans tho
